Whitetail hunting when given the choice from Kansas, Missouri
and Iowa most will not select Missouri. With Missouri whitetail tags available
for over the counter purchase it seems to prejudice hunters against that state.
This perplexes us as Missouri sits in the center of Kansas, Iowa, Illinois, three
very well respected whitetail states. Logic would seem to dictate that
whitetails do not know what state lines are and that Missouri would have an
equal share of trophy whitetails as the surrounding states. Local hunters agree.
21 1/2 inch inside spread, 6 1/2 inch circumference at the base.
The significant difference between our ground in Kansas, Missouri and
Iowa is the habitat type. This deer came from the heavier wooded region where the underbrush is a significant factor.
The common belief is that north Missouri produces the big bucks.
This belief is pervasive amongst many hunters resulting in several of our
southern properties going un-hunted every year. Experienced deer hunters
that do hunt these properties have the potential to tag deer such as this one.
180 Class

North Carolina resident and first year
hunter Robert Johnston harvested this trophy off a property recommended to him by the
Association staff. The rack's green score was 180 and Robert tagged it the first morning of
his first hunting day never making it to his deer stand. Robert came all the way
from North Carolina for a one hour hunt.
Lifelong
experienced hunters/staff select our habitat. They
have tagged enough deer to prove to anyone they know deer hunting. The benefit to the
hunter is getting to hunt land others had to do the work to acquire.

Here are some pictures , a buck I shot the first day in [location deleted] and I
probably should have waited as I saw a bigger buck 2 days later on another farm
and a doe I shot in [location deleted] along with some big rubs. I did not see
any big bucks in [location deleted] but the weather was not good, freezing rain,
heavy snow and a very bad ice storm. Thank You for a wonderful hunting
experience. I would like to thank John Wenzel for all of his advice on where to
get started it is greatly appreciated !!!!! Don

Always as good to see a doe harvest as a buck, thank you. Congratulations on a
good hunt, you worked for it. |
