Last year I posted a pic of my "one hour hunt". This year I'd like to post the results of my "two hour hunt". A hefty 9 pointer. This was a case in which the gods were really smiling upon me. This year, I was negligent in reserving my deer hunting area that ''d used in the past and when I attempted to make last minute arrangements it wasn't available. I chatted a bit with John Nee and he suggested another farm not far away. Trusting John's judgment, I agreed. As it turned out, I had zero opportunity to scout this property. In fact, the evening before the opener of the MO gun deer season I was archery boar hunting in SE OK. We drove into the nite to get home and I decided to sleep in a bit before going afield (another two hour drive...)
The result was I didn't get out into the field until after 11 am opening morning. I passed on two smaller bucks in the first half hour and bagged this nice nine pointer after being in the field less than two hours. Now its on the KS fall turkeys and/or more fishing...

Here's a pic of my 10 Nov "1-hour hunt". I was on MAHA property in Linn county Missouri. Able to get home for the 1100 am kick-off of my favorite college game !! One hour hunt likely because of the fact that I'd scouted and hunted this property before. Deer came in right from where I expected, time of day I expected. Now I guess I get to fish more... - Bart
