Found by a bird hunter in a CRP field. From Jerry C., who has never deer hunted.
Courtesy Harry O. These are the sheds I collected during bird season. The one in the center has good mass and quite a bit of heft to it. These are the ones I kept. I did find other smaller ones and left them lay. Harry did say he has found all his deer hunting spots while bird hunting.
Hi, John, attached is a photo of sheds I've found on MAHA properties in the last 2 years. There are only 3, but 2 of them are pretty decent bucks. Joshua Joshua, a Texas deer hunter travels our way for deer, turkey and duck hunting.
Sheds found during spring turkey season. Two matched sets within 200 yards. Gary Gary has been deer hunting in Kansas since Kansas opened up to non-resident deer hunters.
A great pile of sheds from one spring's deer scouting trip! Steve also said it was pure luck. Over the years he has been scouting he has never before found this many. Steve is a local deer and turkey hunter that has had above average success deer hunting over the years. While many will agree that pre season deer scouting is a great enhancer to potential success surprisingly few deer hunters make it our way for a scouting only tip. Most that do deer scout do so in combination with a spring turkey hunt. Others plan a few scouting days just prior to the opening of their deer hunting trip or setting up a stand. One scouting plan is for the first year Association deer hunter is to get an idea from us where to deer hunt. He then secures his own aerial photos of the leases we recommend. Find the properties with the habitat he is most comfortable with and then comes out for his first self guided deer hunting or scouting trip. Our scouting is just as our deer hunting, it is for the do it yourself deer hunter that only requires a jump start. We provide the private lease land access with the right habitat in the right region of Kansas, Iowa or Missouri with a history of production and a listing of near by lodging. |
