One very nice 4x4. Jonathan (my son) and I were scouting the day before season opened and spotted this buck, but he was on property across the road from our club property. On opening day I saw several bucks but not one I wanted to take until this one came up out of a gully with a herd of other mule deer. Not being very far from these deer it only took a short stalk until I was in position to take him. I had to wait for other deer to move out of the way, but finally got an open shot at about 150 yds. The rest is history. It was quite cold and windy that morning, but had warmed up considerably by the time I took this buck at about 11am.Nathan |
