I was able to harvest this 10 pointer on the second day of the Rifle season, which left my wife happy since I was home early. I got to my stand early on Sunday and had deer all around me before sunrise. I had an 8 pointer about 50 yards from me, but by the time I could get turned around without spooking him and bring my rifle up, he was facing away from me and I didn't have a good shot. I was just thinking I probably had my opportunity for the day when I heard this deer grunting and chasing a doe across a CRP field. I was looking ahead for an opening where I thought they would come into the timber. The doe crossed the opening at about 40 yards with the buck 20 yards behind her. Thanks again for all the help. in finding a place to hunt. I really didn't have a lot of time to scout
this year because we had a little girl in May so things have been pretty hectic
around our house with a two year old and a new born. The properties you directed
me to were everything you said they would be.
