Two License Requirement

In addition to Kansas firearms deer hunting tag, the Kansas deer hunter is also required to purchase and keyword here, possess, the basic license whenever deer hunting to include when assisting other Kansas deer hunters.

David and Joseph made their annual 3,000 mile round trip with the Association. Last year they used their "never give up" strategy and ended up tagging their second whitetail on day 9. This year, they decided to come early and scout the week prior to the season. They were fortunate enough to locate the bucks they were after and tagged out the second day, which gave them some time to relax and hunt whatever else was available.

David titled the hunt a "2005 Midwest Safari".

One Primary Tag

In all cases of all resident and non-resident deer hunters they are only permitted to have one buck tag of any description and up to four doe tags depending on the Kansas deer management unit.

The non-resident antler deer tag is only available through the regular draw. The doe tags are available for over the counter purchase.

Within this Association only the buck tag holder can make reservations during the regular firearms deer season. The doe hunters can wait until the late doe only season in January. By this system we prevent the lowlife member with a doe tag from blocking land for his buddy with a buck tag from other members with a buck tag. Yes, we must manage our deer hunters as children every once in a while and do so to ensure parity to all and no one person from abusing the good organization we have.

Trophy Whitetail of Choice

We offer Kansas deer hunting to the level that any deer hunter may be. While we all want a trophy whitetail deer many of those that travel from other states will find a 120 scoring rack the best of their deer hunting career up to that point. Harvest that buck and for those deer hunters they should work there way up to the 140 level as the goal of the hunt should be a quality buck, not just any deer. Kansas does give that opportunity to harvest a good buck.

Overall, our self guided Kansas deer hunts added to Missouri and Iowa seasons is one more option making a total of three gun seasons available to our hunters.
