Not to be counted on winter snowfall during the season. Happens about every
three years or so. This snow fall gave us a chance to show a different
highlighting of wooded creek bottoms and wood patches.
Tough to show ground level deer habitat pictures as the nuance and detail does not show well. In this case this is a Kansas wood patch surrounded by grain crop fields. The entire wood patch is composed of similar tree and lower level cover providing good winter over protection and avoidance of observation from any direction. This was an overcast day moving from one stand to another. It was cold and the deer did not want to move. The front had just come in that night before and a warm up expect that PM along with hunger should get them moving again. Aerials have similar faults showing the macro sense of the area without the ground level details that ground level pictures can only show as snippets of information. |
