Joshua Flournoy a Texan

Unsuccessful and Satisfied

Dear Jon,

I'm writing to let you know that I really enjoyed my first year of membership in the Mid America Hunting Association. I came twice in November of 2000 to bow hunt whitetail deer on MAHA properties. I was extremely pleased with the numbers of deer. I saw a few nice bucks as well, with a lot of sign of much bigger bucks. Unfortunately, neither time did I hit the rut just right, but I still saw plenty of deer activity. In 11 days of hunting, only on 2 outings did I not see a single deer, and on those particular outings I saw other wildlife, such as turkeys, bobcats, coyotes. Every other time out, almost, I had deer walking by right under my climbing stand. This was a very welcome change from where I'm used to hunting. It was very exciting to see so much game.

I was also very impressed with the numbers of turkeys, and definitely plan to come turkey hunt in spring 2001. On one property I saw about 50 turkey and on another about 30, with excellent looking turkey habitat.

I was really hoping to come back one more time this past fall to do some bird hunting, pheasant and waterfowl, but I just couldn't make it away from home for a 3rd trip in one fall. I'm very much looking forward to trying those hunting opportunities out in the fall of 2001.

Thanks again for a great club, and I'm very enthusiastic about the opportunities I will have in 2001 for enjoyable hunts. keep up the good work.

Sincerely,

Joshua Flournoy
