One more piece to the deer hunting puzzle most must complete for a successful central mid-west deer hunt on the great plains.
Pictured is one of the best trophy deer hunting leases we have in the Association in a very competitive deer management unit.
Interior to the creek line the trees are of the small size.
The farm is mostly crop and cut through the center is a creek with two other feeder tributaries. Total acreage on this farm is 320 with about 35 to 40 in the creek bottom all suitable and managed for one hunter. This particular farm is of special value as the farm to the north across the road and the one adjoining to the south have largely cleared the creek leaving our lease to be the ground cover spot for the local deer.
This farm also has year round water shown in the bottom of the small creek. The water completes the deer attracting value of this lease. The other deer hunting value points being cover and crop field food. The crops on this farm and the neighbors include fall planted wheat and an irrigated corn field. The deer cover habitat being the many small trees that have populated what was once a pasture. |
