Deer Habitat 4

Most deer hunters initially scout by aerial photos and occasionally habitat in an aerial photo does not appear as good as it actually is on the ground. This aerial of a 320 acre piece of private lease land we have within a good deer hunting location is such an example.

Once again it is not the size of the deer, low to the ground, cover habitat it is the location of that habitat out of line of sight of road and farm yard. In this case the entire western 2/3 of this farm cannot be observed from the road to the north or east.

The picture above and immediately below are looking down the north-east/south-west running wooded drainage running through the crop field. That drainage was selected due to its relative appeared in the aerial photo to the rest of the surrounding ground.

This view is a thin spot in the same drainage pictured above showing the grain field on the other side.

There are bigger wood patches on the aerial and on the ground than what is pictured on this page.
