David, Robert & Larry

4 From North Carolina Harvest 3 Trophy Deer

What is good to know about the deer hunters below is they hunted on their own with no assistance from the Association staff other than the Association making private ground available to them.

These hunters arrive two days before the season, glass and scouted, modified their earlier reservations the day before the opener and went hunting. The result was four hunters harvest three trophies with the fourth hunter having a shot opportunity as well. That is about as good as it does get.

David harvested this deer the first day after having scouted it that morning. Green score 140's with a large body estimated to be well up in the 200 pound category.

A key lesson from these folks is how it is not important to have your reservations until after you know where you want to hunt. The ability to reserve hunting spots the day before the season surly must indicate the un-pressured nature of our hunting.

This is the second trophy class whitetail for Robert in three years having harvested it on the second day of his hunt.

20 inches wide with a 27 and a 28 inch beam.

Robert had seen one bigger than this one.

Larry rounds out the hunt with his first mid-west whitetail.

Spend your time hunting rather than hunting for a place to hunt!
