Bow Hunting

Thanks again for another great year with the organization. All my
reservations and hunts went off without a hitch. Unfortunately, the big one I
was after eluded me. But, you know you've got it pretty good when the one you
settle for still meets P&Y requirements. The deer pictured grossed 136 4/8
and netted 128 3/8. The amount of game in the area I'm whitetail hunting is the highest
I've seen it in the five years I've been there. I can hardly wait for spring
turkey season to get here so I can go chase
all those longbeards I saw from my stand this fall. I hope the fall hunting
season went well for you as well.

This
letter of thanks is long overdue. As you know, I've been a member since
fall of 1998. Since joining the club my freezer has been full of venison
and turkey, and I've even been fortunate enough to make a couple of trips to the
taxidermist. I knew so little about hunting when I joined. I think
back on the naïve questions I asked you, and all I can do is laugh. But,
you were patient with me, gave me good advice, and most importantly put me on
land with large numbers of deer and turkey. This gave even a beginner like
me a real opportunity to succeed. Now I'm hooked! My goal this year
is to take a buck larger than the ones in the included picture. I realize
that paying my yearly dues doesn't guarantee
me a trophy every year. However, it sure gives me one heck of a chance!
The more I learn about hunting, the more I appreciate your keen eye for
selecting land with outstanding habitat. Keep up the great work, and
thanks for everything! Alan
